kiloton weapon
(DOD, NATO) A nuclear weapon, the yield of which is measured in terms of thousands of tons of trinitrotoluene explosive equivalents, producing yields from 1 to 999 kilotons. See also megaton weapon; nominal weapon; subkiloton weapon.
